12/28/2016 - Implementation of 2012/2011 Code Family
On December 28, 2016, the City Commission adopted Ordinance 16-10872 modifying the City of Salina’s implementation of the 2012/2011 code family as locally amended. The 2012/2011 codes as locally amended will still become effective January 1, 2017. From January 1, 2017 to April 1, 2017 applicants may elect to submit building permit applications for footing and foundation, shell, white box, tenant finish or any combination thereof (excluding demolition permits) under the previous 2006/2005 family of codes as locally amended. Projects that commence under the 2006/2005 family of codes as locally amended may continue to be permitted and inspected under the 2006/2005 family of codes as locally amended provided that construction is commenced within 90 days of initial application for a building permit and that a permit(s) is actively maintained until completion of the project. In the event that construction is not commenced or an active permit is not maintained as required, subsequent construction or permits and corresponding work shall be subject to the 2012/2011 code family and local amendments in effect on January 1, 2017.
