8/31/2022 - Notice of Open House for West Magnolia Road Improvements Project

NOTICE OF OPEN-HOUSE PUBLIC DESIGN MEETING

ON DESIGN OF WEST MAGNOLIA ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FROM CENTENNIAL ROAD TO THE I-135 INTERCHANGE, SALINA, SALINE COUNTY

Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that an in-person public meeting will be held in the College Center Conference Room at K-State Salina College Center, 2310 Centennial Rd., Salina, KS 67401 on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Daylight Savings Time. Handicap access is available. Project information and exhibits prepared by the City of Salina, with the help of WSP USA, will be available for public inspection at the meeting. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning their views on the conceptual design of the West Magnolia Road Improvements Project from Centennial Road to the I-135 Interchange in Salina. Persons may discuss the project and its consistency with the goals and objectives of the community and offer comments at the public meeting between the prescribed hours. Written statements and exhibits as well as oral statements will be received at the meeting. 

In conjunction with the in-person public meeting, an online public meeting format to allow for a social distancing option, will also be offered from September 8, 2022 through October 6, 2022 and can be found at http://salina-ks.gov/magnoliaroad. During this timeframe all interested persons have the opportunity to review the same project information and exhibits that were available at the in-person event and submit comments or questions on the online public meeting website. Any written or emailed statements and exhibits received will be made part of the public meeting record.

The West Magnolia Road project improvements include a curb and gutter, sidewalk, a 10-foot-wide bike path, and median/turn lanes where applicable, as well as the design of a stormwater sewer system to replace the existing open ditches. As part of this project, WSP will assist the City of Salina in applying for grants to help fund the design and/or construction of the project. The purpose of the project is improved safety, connectivity, operations, economic investment, and livability.

Copies of this information can be provided by written request to the office of the City Engineer of the City of Salina, City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street, Salina, KS 67401. Written statements and exhibits will be made a part of the public meeting transcript if received before October 7, 2022.
