On Tuesday, May 29th, the contractor for the City of Salina will set up traffic control and start removal of curb and gutter on Ninth Street from Kirwin to Crawford. Removals will begin on the west side of Kirwin and continue north to Crawford.
One lane of Ninth Street will be blocked and the speed limit will be reduced for the safety of the work crews. The middle turn lane will be used as a through lane of travel while maintaining two-way traffic. Residents will experience short disruptions as driveway entrances are replaced.
Motorists are asked to proceed with caution when driving through the construction zone and may wish to find an alternate route.
This project is the second of three phases for this corridor and will be completed by mid-September. Phase one consisted of the removal of threes in the right of way. The third phase will be mill and inlay of the street surface.
