The Salina Drive-thru Recycling Center, 125 W. North St., will start accepting shredded paper on September 19, 2018. Shredded paper must be separated from all other recyclables accepted at the facility, and it must be clean and dry. It is preferred that the paper be placed in brown paper grocery bags or clear plastic bags. However, staff will accept other separated bags or containers.
Acceptable types of shredded paper:
- Blueprints (paper only)
- Brochures (paper only)
- Copier Paper
- Colored Paper
- Craft paper
- Credit cards (mixed in with paper)
- Notebook paper
- Plain paper envelopes
- Utility statements (and other bills)
Unacceptable types of shredded paper:
- Junk mail
- Plastic film
- Wax paper
