RIVER FESTIVAL PARK AND TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS
To provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone, the Smoky Hill River Festival asks for your cooperation with a few River Festival and Oakdale Park reminders:
*A short-term, trial policy concerning the use of tents during the Festival has been discontinued, due to safety concerns and sightline issues. To facilitate sight lines and entertainment enjoyment for all, please keep shade umbrellas behind the normal marked boundary near the Eric Stein Stage. Individual tents and tent canopies are not allowed in the park.
*To ensure the safety of all Festival visitors young and old, please leave at home all pets, bicycles, scooters and skateboards. Also, glass containers are not allowed in coolers.
*Remove all blankets and chairs at the end of each evening. Plastic tarps are not allowed, due to damage to the park and grass.
*Please dispose of all trash and recycling in designated barrels, to keep Oakdale Park clean and ready for all.
To minimize traffic frustrations for local residents and out-of-town visitors, CityGo and OCCK will provide the following services:
*Complimentary rides on the CityGo Bus System are available to anyone wearing a Festival button on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, June 12-14 (no Sunday service).
*The CityGo bus system provides shuttle service from Salina Central High School’s south parking lot at 650 E. Crawford Street (by the football stadium) to the Fourth Street Bridge entrance to the Festival on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m.
*CityGo offers expanded bus service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to Oakdale Park (Oakdale entrance and Bicentennial Center foot bridge) during the Festival, to take people anywhere on normal routes within Salina City limits.
*After regular shuttle hours, OCCK provides transportation for people with movement impairments on an on-call basis only, from 8:30 to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Check in at Festival Headquarters to arrange for assistance.
